IT Methodologies We Favour
A (software development) methodology is a set of Methods, Models and Processes that assist the effective creation of software systems, by declaring a rigourous set of steps and artifacts necessary to produce a quality, well thought-through and maintainable end product.
Our Approach : Depends upon circumstance
We find most large clients already have a favoured methodology, or an in-house modification of one (eg a tailored version of PRINCE-2). In such a case we simply adhere to that system.
Where there is no in-house methodology, we will use our custom methodology, and utilise UML, Design Patterns and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design where appropriate (Note that UML is just a language for modelling).
Most small clients and website projects require a more streamlined approach, that helps ensure quality and perhaps more importantly helps ensure the end-product solves the business need. For these clients/projects we trim down our custom methodology - and do not needlessly thrust it upon our client!
